On 30th November 2017, 14:00 in the Grand Hall of the Institute for Bulgarian Language<\/strong> a presentation will take part of the Jubilee Collection “The Language of Science and the Science of Language” in honour of corr. member prof. Maria Popova and her new Book “Applied Terminology”.<\/p>\n

The Jubilee Collection is an expression of the deep respect for the research of corr. member prof. Maria Popova and is dedicated to her 75th anniversary. 48 articles and studies are included in the Collection written by researchers from various scientific centres and organisations in Bulgaria and abroad. A considerable number of works focus on fields in which Maria Popova has actively worked – terminology and terminography. Other linguistics topics are also covered – lexicology, sociolinguistics, dialectology, etymology, comparative linguistics, history of the Bulgarian language, etc. <\/p>\n

The new book of corr. member prof. Maria Popova “Applied Terminology” is focused on the problems of modern terminography. The book describes the methods and approaches, outlines the history of modern theory and practice in termonography, and discusses the characteristics of the dictionary representation of terminology. The book pays special attention to the challenges of standardisation of terminology and emphasizes the importance of terminology thesaurus and terminology repositories.<\/p>\n
